I’m getting nervous, guys.

My marathon is only 18 days away and to say I am starting to freak out would be an understatement.

I’m having dreams (nightmares?) about the race- things that don’t even make sense.

I need to calm down. I need to relax. I just need to breathe.


I’ve done my training- I know it will be fine. Right?

How do you calm down before taking on a huge, life altering task?

  1. Fatalism works for me. Don’t worry about success – just get out there and do what you can. Just making the effort is already more than most people will ever do. Don’t do it to win – do it because it’s what you want to do, what you’ve been training to do. As Mr Myagi said, “win/lose no matter”.

    Once you’ve actually started, you’ll find all your concerns will disappear anyway and you’ll ace it. This is just stage fright!

  2. Keep calm and run on đŸ™‚

    Take a deep breath and look back on all of your posts about training. You will be reminded of all the hard work you’ve put into training and how far you’ve come since the beginning. Have confidence that your training will take you to the finish line!
